The skeleton key drawing is one of the cooler ones I have had the opportunity to complete. It made use of a couple different techniques that I had been working on throughout the unit on sectioning. In the center of the front view there is a revolved section, and the drawing also includes a couple of full sections. The Sectioning unit itself was probably one of the more challenging units so far, simply because of the massive amount of different techniques involved.
This drawing included two full sections and a revolved section. None of the sections in this drawing were particularly challenging, except for maybe Section AA. It was a rather complex piece to design, not to mention I was required to figure out how to draw it 2:1 and maintain the correct dimensions. The other section I used, the revolved section, was in this particular instance quite simple, though a good example of when it is used. It was used to show that the shape of the key was circular throughout.
The drawing offered challenge with it's complex design, but consequently was one of the most interesting drawings I've done to date. It demonstrates a couple of different uses of sections, and helped me in my mastery of this technique.
